Area in sandhills above beach half way between Formby/Freshfield and Ainsdale and woods behind. Drive onto beach at Ainsdale and go left for as far as you can - then park and go in the sandhills. Keep walking along the top of the sandhills awar from Ainsdale for about 10 minutes - or along beach then up into dunes. Occasional undercover police patrol but rare.
